    Water damage indicator?

Does anyone know exactly where this is and what color it "should" be, on the pearl? I've never gotten my phone wet, but I'm having problems with it and I'm so afraid tmo is going to give me the runaround on getting a new one.

There should be a little circular sticker on the battery. If it senses water damage, it should turn from white to red.

Here is the thing. If it does have water damage and your phone is seriously screwed up, you can still exchange it and get a new/refurbished phone, you will just have to pay $100 for the new one for an out of warranty fee. Well worth it to get a replacment. doest extend your contract and you get another phone that works.

A friend had problems with his Pearl and called T-mobile about it. The rep asked my friend to take the back cover off and look for the colored square to the right of the Micro SD card holder. My friend said the square in question was white to which the rep said "good, that means it didn't get wet". I've checked. My square is still white. Life is good.

Look in the area of the MicroSD card slot. Just to the right of the MicroSD slot there is a little wall with a small square sticker on it. That's where mine is anyways. Not sure about others. If it is white, you are good. If has red on it, it's been tripped. If the one on the battery is tripped, and the one in the phone isn't you might be able to just make sure and not send in the battery with the phone.

Ok call me a genius (or not! lol)....but I propose putting scotch tape on it That way, it'll at least you buy a LITTLE bit of time if your phone ever gets wet!!

    Re: Water damage indicator?

hmm i dont know if that would work or not, i dont think scotch tape is very water resistant. electrical tape might be a better bet, i was thinking maybe just carefully removing it with a razor blade, sticking it to some sticker-paper, and keeping it somewhere i wouldnt lose it so i could carefully put it back on if i ever needed to send it in,

that might be some kind of fraud though, it probably says that in some fine print somewhere that we all just ignore...

knowing me though i would completely forget that i put tape over it or took it off and i would get an angry letter from rim and no new phone

My battery has a clear sticker with red "x"s on it, i think it works the same way as the ones with the lines, if the line(s) looks blurry or smeared then they know it's gotten wet.

My sticker had little XXXs on it as well when I got it brand new, so I know this is a good sign.

For those of you who think they can remove the sticker and then put it back so everything is fine, ummm sorry it won't work lol I'm talking of my experience already.

Ps putting tape over it won't work either lol

    Sorry guys lol
