~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~you might want to go to the speed dial menu and then add the voicemail that way.

Enter your VM # as a contact in your address book. Then hoto to the main screen, press and hold the 1 key. It will ask if you want to assign a # to the key. Scroll to you vm # and voila!

Actually, the "proper" way to do this is through Options in the Phone app.

Go into the Phone app by pressing the green call button from any screen.

Press the Menu button (the button between the ball and the call with the BlackBerry logo on it).

    Scroll to Options and select.

    Scroll to Voicemail and select.

Enter your access number. Note: this is NOT your phone number. If you don't know the voicemail access number, call your carrier and ask for it.

Insight: CDMA voicemail works with calling your own number to access voicemail, but GSM has voicemail service centre numbers which are not the same as your phone number. They are also not all the same for the entire network either. Usually there will be one access number for a city / area code.

    Lewis,

With Cingular, I still access my voice mail by dialing my Cell number. Of course I have been doing it this way for a long time. You just have to know the access code and have it entered in the additional Numbers, along with a pause code.
I guess this means the with Cingular you can use both methods.

    That's interesting RC.

Do you get your greeting first? Or do you go straight into the voicemail system?

On Rogers, it's impossible to call oneself from one's own mobile. The call won't complete. Won't get a busy signal or anything. The phone just goes back to whatever screen was previous. And this is for any phone I've ever used! BlackBerry, Moto, Nokia.

But it's good you caught me spreading lies! I wouldn't want my gospel to be believed if it's not completely true.

    Re: Voicemail Shortcut

It goes straight to the Voice Mail. And it's weird, I was trying to call myself to leave a VM, to check on what the VM indicator looks like, dialed my number without the access code and it connected directly to the VM and showed the VM number not my telephone no. Apparently it recognizes my phone number and transfers it.
