I don't think the Pearl has short cut keys from the Home Screen. Maybe in a future release or a future theme.
Hope this helps
Here's how I have my two "convenience keys" set up:
Right key: lock keypad
Left key: brings up contact list (to call/send email/etc)
But now, to access voice dialing, I have to click into applications, then into the folder with extra ones, then click it, etc....
Anyone know if I can set up (a third) shortcut somehow to get voice dialing?
I'm on UK Vodafone, and using their theme, as in all other ways it's superior I think to the others!
Welcome eudorauser. Instead of the right key to lock the keypad what if you set that to be voice dial. You can lock the keypad other ways.
keypad lock is star button for 3 seconds.
hope this helped
Been a long while since last login. Sorry all, adjusting to a new life is great and hell at the same time!!
~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~you can also hold down the mute button to put it in standby mode. This will allow you to put voice dial back on the left side button.
On my Pearl, I set up the left convenience key for the alarm and the right convenience key for my contacts list. HOWEVER! If I hold down the left convenience key, it brings me to voice dialing. Try this, I don't know if it is automatic on every Pearl.
Thanks, good points. I'm too lazy to keep the star key pressed down for 3 seconds, as I click it every time I put the phone in my pocket!
On the holding down, that doesn't work for me, maybe it's the theme I'm using (vodafone)!
