Virus or spyware on my 8100 att?

I got my 8100 in Feb of this year. Never had any major problem. About 2 months ago I updated to the 4.5 OS. My phone locks up every once a while but no big deal.

Yesterday my phone locked up and I pulled out the battery to restart it just like how I always did it before. But this time after it loaded up everything I noticed 8 new apps/Icon on the phone that I never had before.
    -Shop Applications
    -Music Apps
    -Shop Tones
    -Shop Games
    -Shop Graphics
    -Shop Themes
    -Streaming Music
    -MusicD

I do have unlimited data plans. I go to the same web site that I always go to, all of them are message board website.

    Have this happened to anyone?

Yes, these are new service books, courtesy of AT&T. Nothing you can do about them other than hide them on your home screen.

    Another new AT&T low

Actually, I called them about the new garbage icons they sent to my pearl, and after listening an hour on hold to "cruddy music with snare drums" they promised to take me off their "Solicitations List" - whatever they want to call it. I still have to hide their trashy icons.

They were calling from a boiler room -- another new AT&T low.

I noticed I now have some of those and a Yellow Pages icon as well, yippie. Like I need yellow pages when Google 411 is free and will take voice input.

You could also just go into options>adv options> service book and delete them in there.

Yes, but they'll return next time you restart your device or push service books for any reason.
