Do you have the phone set to use the sd card as an external device? If so you can't see the video or music folders in Desktop Mgr, only Windows Explorer. You can see pix and rts becuase they are also on the phone's memory (preinstalled).

good question; i am not sure; where in the options to i access this? in fact, i just bought a micro sd card today and the bb does not recognize it; interestingly enough, when i place the micro sc card in the ce adapter an plug it into my laptop, the laptop does not recognize it as a drive either ... wonder if the sd car is faulty ...

You must format the card in the pearl. Put it in. it may ask you if you want to format it (yes) if not go to options, card, set it as an external device. There should be a format option somewhere, I forget, but you have to format it in the pearl for the 4 folders to show. Maybe format it first in the laptop using windows, then put it in the pearl to be safe and go from thre.

New to the BBP and the only function I miss is being able to record videos. I am looking to see if there is software out there that will let you record videos with the BBP. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to this forum. You will find this site very helpful with your new pearl.

Please note the search feature on the sites toolbar menu thing. If you do a simple search you can find this has been covered quite a few times.

The blackberry pearl cannot record video as of now. Hopefully some day a 3rd party app will allow this.

I am new to the blackberry scene and I see there are a lot of smart people here and a lot of beginers like me, If I ever see a post that I think I can help I will try, If I'm wrong, sorry...There are numerous programs to convert avi, mpg etc movie formats to work on the pearl, if you do a search on the internet for 3GP you will find a ton, one that is free can be found at http://www.reganam.com/3gp-player.htm there is a player that you can watch the 3GP movies on your computer also, works great.
