    Answer 1:
    Two words. Audible alert.

Now I understand that everyone with blackberrys can just call up their carrier and adjust the voicemail timer. Or perhaps every carrier should just automatically modify it for their blackberry subscribers.

The point is, ever since the first vibrate option was made, it was simultaneous vibrate and ring. Only a few companies have dared stray from this, and they always do one option or the other, never both. For me, I have a bit of hearing loss in certain ranges, I can't always hear the ringer or the vibration, so having both a vibrate and ringer is a great asset, and ensures that I will get my calls.

Also, I don't always have my phone on my person. I don't use a landline at all, so sometimes it is across the room, when I am at home or work. Every vibrate that happens before I can hear my phone is just lost time to answer that call. As versatile as the BB OS is for alert options it still does not meet my needs. I have to often turn off vibrate entirely, and then I don't have the vibrate when I need it.

    Answer 2:

Personal Preference. Why do you need a Vibrate then Ring option?

Like I stated before, this is about including BOTH options in future releases.

    Re: Vibrate and Ring Option

Another suggestion...I set my In Holster to Vibrate/Ring and Out of Holster to Tone only. That way when I am wearing the phone I get the vibrate (helpful in a noisy environment) and at home when I lay it on the kitchen counter it only rings.

Yes - both would be better!
