Using Pearl to Play Media in Car via Bluetooth?

I have searched and searched, and not found an definite answer one way or the other so here goes:

Is it possible to play songs (mp3), whether mono/stereo in your car from your pearl via bluetooth?

According to Dollars 5, they claim I can, however, when I attempt, I am unable to. T-Mobile told me I cant. I downloaded the most recent firmware (4.2.1.101).

I am able to succesfully pair my device and it works flawlessly for phone calls but cant seem to get it to play songs. I tried the threads that mention to start song, open browser, dial number, hang up, etc...when I do this, it plays for half a second at the most and stops.

It really would be convienient if this was possible as it would eliminate my need to carry an iPOD and pearl and since I have a 2g media card, i have lots of space for music...

Woudl the bluetooth on my car be restricting audio play somehow or would it only be the settings/software on my pearl? In case it matters, I have a 2006 BMW 330.

Pulling out the little hair I have left...

however, you can buy a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter and plug it in to an AUX outlet in your car stereo and play it through it.

Sorry to be the fun breaker, but mud is right, you'll have to do it thru an adapter
I'm french canadian so I can also help you in french, just PM me
UNLESS it is for a BETA OS, it's at your own risk and I won't support it

I dont have an aux outlet in my car.

Seems like someone woudl have developed a software app that would allow you to do, and since I can play media songs/music via bluetooth to my headset, I believe there is a setting prohibiting me from playing via my car speakers...

Unfortunately, for the pearl it can't be done since it doesn't support A2DP

well even if you can listen to your mp3's through your BT headset, it won't play through your car speakers, unless you miraculously bought a bluetooth capable car stereo.

i meant without the use of a 3rd party app. hopefully dollar5 will have an upgrade that will allow it soon.

Mud i am assuming he has BT built in the car already, alot of the newer cars are adding BT out the factory.

How do you play your iPod now? Mud mentioned the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter. That turns the headphone jack on your poearl in to the same size plug as your iPod has for headphones. If you're using the headphone out of your iPod to play with your stereo, you can use your Pearl in the same manor. I'm doing it in my car this way and it works great! The pearl outputs a nice sound with plenty of amplification.

For iPod, I am using an FM transmitter designed specifically to the iPod...

For Pearl, I just ordered an FM transmitter from seidioonline and will post back if it seems to work well.

Seidio products usually work great good luck with that!
1 question, if u got the FM trans for the iPod which can hold up to 80 gigs according to which iPod u have (i use the DLO FM transmitter myself) then why the FM trans for the Pearl?

I want to eliminate the iPod altogether (and I only have 4 gig capacity on the iPod)
