    Using PC to modify Addressbook?

This may sound silly, but is there a way to modify my Addressbook with the desktop software? I dont use Outlook so I dont sync with it. I need a faster way to merge my gmail contacts with the blackberry.

    TIA.

    bluskye, Welcome to PinStack.

How do you plan to get your address book off of Gmail? You can use Desktop manager to sync with any of the compatible PIMs and use that to edit you address book on the PC. Outlook and Outlook express are listed as are Lotus Notes and ACT. You don't necessarily need to have outlook as your email client, just use it as a PIM.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

Well, desktop manager will allow you to sync a character separated text file with your BB address book. You can use excel or notepad to create the file. I would create one by syncing the BB to your PC then editing it with excel and re-sync it. that way you have the field mapping set up.

Ahh, Ok got it. Just using Outlook as the middle man to cut and paste into the bb and sync it. Thanks alot. Hopefully when google releases an app to get a hold of my contacts things will be easier.

    The Pearl is great btw.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I started out by using the text file sync to add all my old contacts with excel.. Very easy - works great
