UPLOAD .jar/.jad files WITHOUT OTA
alright, i've been seeing a lot of people with this issue, and i thought i might as well tell people how to do it without OTA.
this has worked with my 8100. dont know about other devices, but it should work with all 81xx devices.
.alx and.cod files can be installed directly through the app loader.
.jar and.jad files are a different story.
ok, here we go. very simple.
you must have a memory card installed to do this.
connect blackberry to computer.
open blackberry drive on computer. make a new folder with all of the others (music, video, etc.)
now, get the .jad and .jar files and throw them into that folder.
disconnect your phone from computer.
go into media menu on phone.
press menu button. scroll up to "explore."
find media card and keep cruising through folders, until you find the folder you made. should be with all the other general ones(music, etc.)
open the folder and find the .jar file. if that one doesnt work, try the other.
open, download, and enjoy.
once you are done installing, you can delete the jar and jad files. you dont need them anymore.
to uninstall a program, just go through the app loader on your computer. program cannot be uninstalled directly from phone.
this method does not use OTA. you do not get billed for the internet on your phone. if you dont believe/trust me, turn the wireless on your phone off before the install.
email me if you have a question. i'll be happy to help.

Hey, I tried what you describe and I am getting the error message Download failed "907 Invalid JAR Duplicate defination for 'f' found in: f"
Here is some more information. Reply #10 is the money maker... with screenshots!
that is not the right way ur supposed to make a file called apllications on the device meory by clickin media manger find device memory part n then make file but the rest of it is right
It shouldn't matter where you put the the jar/jad files... they should always install to the proper place and if you remember where you put them on your card then you know where to find them.
