Updated OS problems...phone stopped working

Hey all, just wondering if anybody else has had this problem or if it's just me. I tried updating my phone to the new Rogers 4.2 OS. I followed the steps and did exactly what I was supposed to. After I was done with that, all my phone would display was something that looked like an error window for a windows computer with a square, triangle and circle in it. It also had one of thos bit "no" circles with the line through it. No matter how many times I turn my phon on and off its still there. I tried a battery pull and DM wont let me restore my phone. I was wondering if I'm a lone wolf out here or if anybody knows what to do...

you wiped the blackberry...the screen you see is the white screen of death error 505? lol...just kidding

it means your device has NO operating system.

its no big deal really...just start over, with the installation of the OS on to your PC

Hey thanks! I just had to downgrade the OS. my first mistake was not deleting the Rogers 4.2 before I downloaded the Cingular one. I kept thinking that it would put on the old OS but it kept the Rogers one on there.

Thats another thing, do you know why my phone wouldn't work with the Rogers OS??

1. you didn't wait long enough for the reboot during the install
2. your PC had a hiccup during the install
3. you bumped the USB cable during the install

Thanks though, and I'm going to try again, I just have to build the courage to do it again...I was without my Crackberry for almost 24 hours...

We need to have a 24 hour support group/phone tree kind of thing. Just for these instances. So that you know we are here for you in your time of need.

Actually I thought of that so I went back through to double-check, and I did delete it.

That phone tree would be pretty sweet...and what exactly is a Gremlim then...I'm really confused now, I thought it was a typo...

It's a problem with the pearl keyboard and old eyes. The thumb slips from the N to the M and the eyes can't tell the difference.

I've found that for installing these new OS 's when they come out that if you first do a backup of
your pearl then wipe it clean with JL_Cmder install the new OS and do a selective restore of what ever you want on there your Pearl's performance is alot better and you end up more free memory
doing it that way.
