    Unsafely disconnecting BB

I did something stupid (blame it on sleep deprivation). When I disconnected my Pearl from the pc, I forgot to click on the 'Remove device safely' icon first before I removed the USB cable. Will this have any adverse effects on my Pearl?

That's a good question. I almost did the same thing the other day without thinking. Caught myself in time.

I never click that. I just plug and unplug. It shouldn't effect your BB at all.

It won't cause any problem as long as you're not in the middle of updating the device. If you unplug while an update is in progress it is likely that the device will get stuck there.

    Re: Unsafely disconnecting BB

When I had it hooked up to the pc, I was just charging it (no updating at all). Since I disconnected it that way, now I can't send email, PIN, messages or anything. Running the diagnostic shows that there is no connection to any of my data services (BB server, emails, PIN etc)

Did a battery pull, registered via Host Routing and resent my books, and still I can't get any of my data related services to work

    Re: Unsafely disconnecting BB

Update: turns out T-mo's data services went down around the same time I disconnected my BB, so it seems that it was just a coincidence (hopefully) and not related to how I disconnected.
