    Re: Unlock 8100c?

Only benefit is if you're leaving at&t and want to use your phone on another GSM network i.e. TMO. Unlocking would allow you to do so. That's about it.

Or if you ever sell the phone it would be more appealing to a wider amount of buyers.

That's it, not really worth unlocking unless you need to.

    Welcome to the stacks.

i.e. Travelling to another country. Providers in Europe, Bahamas etc. sell sim cards for "temporary" use on their system. $80 for 500 minutes etc.

Much more cost effective than $2.99/minute roaming charges Tmo gets in the Bahamas...

    You can do two things...

    1. Call your carrier and ask them for an unlock code...so will give you one some will not.

    2. Find a site on the internet that will unlock it for a price.

    Welcome to the stacks!

Sorry, there is no guide. You have 2 choices, either get an unlock code from your carrier, or pay a service to provide it.

If you need to go with a service you can check here

    To Unlock:

    1. While on the home screen, click the settings icon

    2. click the options icon

    3. select advanced options

    4. Select Sim Card

    5. Type m e p p 2 to display the dialog box asking for the unlock code (Press the Alt + 2 key to get the number 2) ( you will not see text appear on screen while typing )

    6. Input the SIM Unlock code

    7. Press in the trackball in once
