    Help guys:

I have a customer who has a vodafone 8100 from austraila and her blackberry has two seperate icons completely for txt and e-mail. Now i know that you have all your text and e-mail go into your message icon as well but is there anyway on the CINGULAR 8100 pearl to seperate them into two different icons??? thanks

I have already set up her two different e-mail accounts and she has the icons for those two but she wants txt and e-mail seperate.

I know there can be two seperate icons however, all of the emails still go into the txt folder while the email folder will only have the email ones.
I have yet to find a way to stop my emails from entering my regular messages folder.

On the latest AT&T operating system (4.2.1.96), you can setup two seperate icons: one for all e-mail addresses and one for SMS/MMS.

To do this, go to the messages folder and press the menu key. Go to Options -> General Settings and scroll to the bottom. There is an item "SMS and Email Inboxes" which allows you to choose Separate, Combined or Theme Controlled. Choose Separate.

    Hope this helps!

Great Suggestion! Also, if your with a different carrier, just unlock this theme and it should also work!

This is not theme related. It is an option in the HandHeld Software. You will need to install a 4.2.1.xx Version of the HandHeld software.

    Hope this helps

Once you set the option, a NEW icon for SMS/MMS appears, whereas before on my device it was simply categorized as such:

Messages Icon: contained all SMS/MMS & Email
Email Address Icon: contained all Email from that particular address

Correct. I believe on older OS versions you could tell it not to put Email in the Messages icon. (Or at least you could change the default view so it wasn't there. I just remember it happening).

But when you have about 6 e-mail accounts coming to the BB, this really stinks as you have to go from icon to icon to check mail messages. The new way keeps SMS/MMS out, but groups all your email in one folder. Very nice.
