two separate questions and food for thought

my 'keep appointments' choice under my calendar options has disappeared since i upgraded from .73 to .94, i have upgraded to .96 since then and still no luck. just in case, the 'keep appointments' option is the option that allows you to automatically delete any old appointments you have in your calendar. i open up the calendar app, hit the menu, then go to options and it's not there. at least that's where the pearl's help app tells me to go....yeah, i used it anywho, does anyone know where it went, or how to fix it? i was going to upgrade to .101 to see if it fixed it, we'll see though.

second question is about bluetooth, is it possible to send apps (not files) between two pearls? just a question, please don't think i'm stealing apps....

lastly, back to the calendar. is there an option where your phone will automatically set itself to 'off' or 'vibrate' at the times that you have 'busy appointments?' for example, say you have an appointment from 2:00pm to 3:30pm. instead of pulling out your phone and manually adjusting your profiles, the phone automatically sees this meeting in your calendar and turns your phone 'off' and 'on' at the appropriate times. i always forget to turn my phone back to normal and miss calls repeately...again with the (i know of the auto on/off function, but this does not suffice) if this isn't possible as of yet, could someone tell rim about this. it would be a convenient feature.

that's all from me. thanks stackers, you never let me down.

well, i'm on .94 and my 'keep appointments' are there. i'd try something simple like a battery pull. after that, i suppose you could go options|advanced|applications, hit menu then modules. make sure you've got net_rim_bb_calendar_app, lib and ota. you might wanna edit the permissions on those: set all to allow. after that, i don't know. maybe a backup and wipe.

    keep us posted.

Regarding your question about uninterupted meeting times....one option is to use the in holster/out of holster settings for this. You can set your notifications off out of holster....

Davey.mac I have the keep appoinments option under 1.101. I also had that option under 1.94 and 1.96. Not sure how you lost yours. Hope your upgrade goes well. Hopefully it comes back.

I don't believe you can send app through bluetooth...it's only files stored within your Media Folder.

Yea I wish there was an automatic profile switcher also.

Hmmm... I'm running 1.101 and have the option. I've never not had the option and i've used .73 and .96. I wonder if there is some error with your OS install?!

Also, I agree with Reddog. I don't think htere is any way to send applications via bluetooth. Media files are stored in a type of file system which makes the whole file portable. The applications are .cod files which are a java code type file. They are somewhat interrelated and therefore, I don't think you can send them.

The automatic profile switcher would be a very good feature for RIM to look at as it's aimed at their targer market -- business users. Perhaps you can post a suggestion for them and on the stacks under the RIM Suggestions forum. Maybe someone wll see it.
    As always, just my opinion...

so i just wanted to update everyone on what's going on so far...i appreciate all the input. i figure the bluetooth question is now moot but figured i'd give it a try anyways. as for the calendar 'fix' i tried updating to .101 but no dice. still no 'keep appointments' option. i'm thinking i'm going to have to wipe my blackberry if i want that option that badly...or i may just live with it until my pearl's memory is so full it can't function.

as for the holster idea....i don't see how that would work, mainly because i would still have to remember to turn that option off after the meeting was over in order to resume 'normal' phone usage but thanks for the idea.

My 'Keep Appointments' option is gone too. I tried upgrading to 4.2.1.94 (Rogers) but it's still missing. Everytime I sync, it keeps only the last 90 days appointments.
