    Question Turning off email?

Is there a way to turn off email completely? For instance, if I'm at the office, I don't need to get emails on my BlackBerry; I only need to receive emails when I'm out of the office. I still need the phone/SMS functionality though. Can this be done?

If you are talking about your work email (outlook) I had my fowarding set up through outlook and created an out of office fowarding rule, which I enabled when I was not at my desk. Then again my company did everything backward. Dont know if this will help you out at all. If you are using Outlook and are able to, check your rules.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
You could go to options, mobile network and turn data services off
Or go to options, security options, firewall and check off BIS

    Re: Turning off email?

If your Outlook is setup with the "default" settings, you will not get your email on your BB when your Outlook is open. Go under Outlook Options, Advanced and if "Leave mail on server" is checked, uncheck it. This will make it where when Outlook is open, email will not be sent to your BB but when Outlook is closed, they will be forwarded through the BIS.

The only disadvantage to this is when you have to do touch and goes with your desk in a hectic work environmet and dont have the time to wait for outlook to open and load. In that case,
