    Transferring Song through Bluetooth

Hello! Can someone help me regarding transferring song to my pearl via Bluetooth. When I try to send a song from my old phone to my Pearl... instead of saving it under the music folder it saves under the ringtone folder, and worst of all, it fails to transfer. Can this be the cause that I the transmission fail? Please help! Thanks in advance

Cfrench, thanks for the reply. No, I am in the media, specifically inside the music folder... Is there anyway I can change the folder where i want to save it? It automatically saves it the ringtones folder instead of the music folder.

    Duh.
I have tried to transfer several songs to my BB for testing purposes, and never succeded in putting them in anything else than Ringtones folder.
Therefore I use mass storage mode trough data cable.

This might be explainable to your old device using blueooth 1 and pearl 8100 using bluetooth 2.
Even tho it should be backwardcompatible, if i'm not misstaken.

As a workarround I would recomend transfering the files to the computer and to your new phone. Using USB cable.

Maybe if the old phone got a microSD card, copy it to that, move it to your new phone. Copy the song to your phone memory. Use the explorer (main menu -> Media, hit the menu button and choose Explorer).

well i don't know why it would be failing the transfer, however, for some strange reason, i guess all audio files sent bluetooth just go to the ringtones folder. i don't know how to change it except when it askes you to save, you can change folders there......

    Re: Transferring Song through Bluetooth

Thanks for all the respond! I guess i found out why... apparently, there is a file size limitation of 2.8 MB per file when saving directly to the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 smartphone. Therefore, if i want to save file bigger than 2.8 MB, i will have to save it in a SD card.

    Thanks!
