    Trackball brings up call log

Okay, so I dropped the phone in the pool a couple of months ago and put a hair dryer to it for a few hours and it has worked fine since.

Today, it started this strange thing that when I press the trackball, my call log comes up. No matter where I am on the phone that is what it does. I have rebooted 20 times, I have cleaned the trackball, taken it apart and used pressured air too. Any suggestions? I am so used to the trackball that I cannot use the phone without it.

Rebooted...did you pull the battery or just power down?

Pool = highly clorinated water = latent corrosion to electrical/electronic circuits/components if left in contact. That's why every thing I've read says that distilled water rinse is necessary, if you can keep it out of open components such as mics and speakers.

    Sorry
But you might try an handheld S/W reinstall

    Hope this helps.

Ouch that sucks. I guess you could try rinsing it in distilled water now, but I bet it's pretty corroded. Maybe take it apart and see what's all defunct.

You can always remove the trackball assembly and give that a rinse. See if those connections are corroded.

    Good Luck

yeah usually if it's dropped in water and it's on then you shorted the device, sometimes they'll come back on but it's only a matter of time before they'll just acting up and thats really about it. I would contact my service provider and see if you have insurance on the phone, if not you might have to purchase a new one
