Just got my Pearl and am learning to like it.

One thing concerns me - I have used many computer trackballs over the years and all need regular cleaning to remove crud that builds up in the cavity below the ball. Now removing and cleaning a desktop trackball is one thing but there doesn't seem to be any way to clean the Pearl's micro-ball - Any comments on this? I'd love to hear that RIM have invented a self-cleaning ball but...

Welcome to the Stacks MMulvey. I know a lot of users have used Air in a Can to flush out any material that gets under the trackball. You can get it any most office supply stores.

No No No, This Isn't What He Meant. The Oil And Dirt From Your Finger Tips Gets Pressed Over And Over Onto The Wheels And Roller Inside A Trackball Mouse Or Even A Regular Mouse. As The Stuff Buils Up It Forms A Hard Layer That Eventuallybuilds Up To The Point That The Ball Can't Turn Them Anymore And Has To Be Scrapped Off. This Is What The Writer Was Originally Asking How To Remove.
