Just Upgraded from .103 and have to say not too much of an improvement but nothing negative yet either so I would say it's a worthy upgrade.

Side Note~ I have tried probably almost every OS upgrade offered regardless of carrier and would have to say that .107 was the fastest download and install of any i've seen yet. That's another reason why it's worth what little hassle it is to upgrade.

Will report back with more tomorrow after work!

Oh anyone else find the humor that TMO waited forever to release .103 and then released .107 only a few weeks after it?

Yeah I don't get it either. What was the point of releasing 103 then, besides all the bugs.

all in all for most people if your phone is working fine. then i wouldnt upgrade your firmware, but for most people on this forum they have been dealing with bb's for along time so for them is a challange to deal with a new firmware and they are familar with firmware updates

I tried removing the modem and setting it up again. I'm getting a 692 hardware failure error.

I just tried tethering and it worked fine. Is your DM recognizing your BB?

tried tethering with a second computer, and still no luck... I might be back on .64 by the end of the day...

DM showing as connected, just no success on the modem handshake with T-Mo.

what are you using as your 'extra initialization commands' for your BB modem? I currently use +CGDCONT=1,,"wap.voicestream.com"

so far I have been able to produce errors 628 ("the connection was terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed"), 651 ("modem has reported an error"), and 692 ("there was a hardware failure with the modem")

TCP settings on blackberry set to: wap.voicestream.com
attempted dialing both "*99#" and "*99#."
verified modem setup with correct port, and that DM has a good connection...

    ----------------------------------------------------

update: after changing the string a few times, I was finally able to connect successfully using the following modem initialization command:

    +CGDCONT=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com"

No issues tethering for me in DFW area on TMO with .107 installed. It worked fine with .64, .103 and now .107 - I did not change a single setting after each upgrade.

I did the upgrade from Cingular 4.2.0.73 and I am now getting the error "Uncaught exception: net.rim.device.api.system.ControlledAccessExceptio n" when the device reboots (every time.)

When I googled this error, the majority is for GMAPS. Does anyone know if this is this a google maps problem? Is it trying to start up on a reboot?
