Question tmo 8100 vs cing 8800 speed and stuff

I am looking for yout thoughts/knowledge/opinons.

    Side by side compairison of:

My tmo 8100, OS 0.64, BB browser, email push from MSN (hotmail)

    vs

GF's Cingular 8800, whatever OS it came with a few days ago, BB browser and email push from yahoo

    SHE KICKS MY A**!
    Browsing is a good 30% - 50% faster
Her emails arrive in 2-5 minutes at most, mine show up on my home computer outlook express in minutes, but 20min or so to be at my BB.

    Do you think this is:
    1. Device related? (I thought they had the same processor)
    2. Service related? (is tmo a network slug)
    3. OS related? (should I upgrade to TIM 1.66)
    4. Mail server related? (MSN problem)
    5. Any suggestions as to how to make it better?

I searched for previous suggestions and found intermitent problems w/tmo last november and suggestions to resend service books and more interestingly to limit the number of emails I save in my inbox.

    Thanks!

I will vote for the carrier. My gmail will start to tell me I have a message, and like LITERALLY 30secs from the start of the notification, my BB tells me I have a message---and I have cingy.

As far as the browser goes, I think the 8800 might have more "muscle" power, because hubby's can pull up a page faster than my 8100. We both have Cingular.

I ran a few tests and everytime her 8700 out performs my newer Pearl.

I sent us both emails at the same time, and hers arrived quicker than mine.
We went to the same webpage at the same time...her's loaded quicker than mine...

I sent us both IM's from a pc to our Yahoo accounts..and her's arrived quicker...

Kinda makes me wonder sometimes if the Pearl is a fancy looking slug?
Since you had two devices with the same carrier and one was clearly outperforming another, did you ever call Blackberry support and ask them if this was common, or a well known problem? Maybe they could shed some light on it.

What OS are you using on the 8100? Is the 1.66 faster slug?

The GF is in the trial period for Cingular, she is going to get a tmo 8800 and we can run a carrier test next week. I'll post results.
