Hello, when I connect my phone to my computer through the USB and go on ... BlackBerry Pearl forum

    Hello, when I connect my phone to my computer through the USB and go on to the desktop manager, my time reverts back an hour. It is 11:25 pm right now and so when I double click on Deskmanger the time goes back to 10:25 pm. it is always like this even when i change it back to the correct time.

    Also, when I change to date/time source to blackberry or network and update the time it goes back an hour. whats the deal here !?

    I need help.

    Mine does the same thing, yet I haven't noticed it since I changed to the new OS (Italy). Hmmmm? What OS are you running now?

    have you downloaded the dst patch to your bb?

    go to mobile.blackberry.com from your berry and follow the links.

    I have TMO an I'm running 4.2.0.71(cingular one). I hate to say this but I dont have the blackberry data plan or whatever it is called.

    is there a link I can go through from the computer?

    The DST patch gave me the same problem as the OP except it didn't mess up my DM time. I looked at my BB after time changed and it wasn't updated. It was either an hour ahead or an hour later than the time it should have been.

    It's available as an OTA download at www.mobile.blackberry.com from your BB Browser.

    Did you try these steps?

    1. To Apply the Patch:
    2. It is recommended that you back up your BlackBerry using the Backup and Restore function in Desktop Manager. Learn more about backing up your device
    3. Close the BlackBerry Desktop Software if it is running on your PC.
    4. Disconnect your BlackBerry Device from your PC. You'll be prompted to reconnect it with the USB cable.
    5. Go to DST Patch Loader. Note: If Internet Explorer or your Device stops responding please view KB12188.
    6. A reset may be required and it will usually take up to 15-20 minutes.
    7. Once the patch is applied you can view the status of the patch in Options-2007 DST Patch.

    okay I downloaded the DST patch loader. I ran it, but now I have no clue where it went.

    You should be able to plug in your BB then run the Desktop Manager to load it.

    Okay, I got it to work. I had to find different directions as the one on the page was very confusing to me. I also had to use Internet Explorer to finally install it.

    This has NOTHING TO DO with the DST Patch for the BlackBerry!

    All versions of Desktop Manager earlier than 4.2 Service Pack 1 will set the BlackBerry's time incorrectly by default.

    In Desktop manager, click on Intellesync icon, and uncheck the Set the device's time option. Also, click the Auto Start button and uncheck the Set the device's time option.

    Alternately, uninstall Desktop Manager, and download and install Desktop Manager 4.2 Service Pack 1.


    * If the correct patch has been applied to the Microsoft Windows Operating System then BlackBerry® Desktop Software v4.2 Service Pack 1 is required to properly synchronize the time.

    Thank you very much for clarifying because we implemented new D*ll laptops Monday and this issue started. One BB out of 87. Go figure. After hours on the phone with the provider and RIM, neither were helpful at all.

    I'm glad to see that someone didn't blame on DST b/c that has to stop becoming the escape goat at some point.

    Thanks again for the precious insight.
