Thinking of buying a Pearl have a few questions though!

Hi there, as you can see im new here, but have been reading some of the information on this site. You guys all seem very knowledgable!

I have a T Mobile Vario II, which has died due to getting wet!

I am looking to buying a Pearl, and will buy phone only as have a Sim already from my company that I work for.

Currently I can do everything on this sim, text, MMS, Internet etc etc.

Will I simply be able to plug my SIM into the blackberry and go? Will I still be able to get the MMS and Text's etc. I know the pearl accepts MMS, but wondered if there would be any issues.

    Thanks in anticipation. Cheers Jas

You will be able to "Plug and Go" for phone usage and SMS usage. MMS and internet will require a separate Blackberry Data Plan.

yep, no one told me till after I would need to pay additional to be able to send pictures and stuff...

All in all, looking back... My only complaint is why didnt they tell me at first!! I went 2 weeks, w/o it.!!!

I love this phone, if I had any kids they would prolly have to fight for attention with my "Black Beauty"

Re: Thinking of buying a Pearl have a few questions though!

I was just about to walk out the door and buy the Pearl when I read the two replies! Now im sat back down again.

Blackberry Data Plans, I take it thats additional costs? See my phone (SIM) is free I dont have a contract thats a deal between T-Mobile and my company. The company phones are basic Nokias, so I have always bought my own decent phone and just put the company Sim in the phone. Never had to take out additional plans or anything, and always had access to the Net, MMS etc.

    Now im confused!

BB are not phone they are PDAs including a phone, and since they are very secure, everytime you go on internet it had to pass by RIM servers in Canada. The BB data plan is used for that, if you don't have the browser will not even appear on your screen and you'll lose about 50% of the BB capacity.

This is a great device but IT has to be used with a BB data plan sorry
