Themes not showing up?
When i download the themes from blackberry desktop manager they dont show up on my BB 8100 any idea why?
what OS are you running?
third line down
cant find OS where is it exaclty?
go to options (its a wrench or possible gears icon)
then to the first selection which should be "about"
on the first screen, the third line down is your OS
looks like this (YOUR NUMBERS WILL BE DIFFERENT):
v220.127.116.11 (Platform 18.104.22.168)
ooh...ok, you have the original OS then, you have never upgraded.
i would suggest upgrading to a newer OS, then reinstalling the themes.
if they still do not show up, then i would suggest contacting the person who made the theme and asking them to re-export to 4.2.0 target OS bc that's most likely the problem.
for upgrading, use this blog post
will updating do anything bad to my phone?
nothing will happen. think of updates to your PC, its more or less the same and yes, its free.
k i downloaded the update but its not showing up on my phone what do i do know?
here are the directions:
download the update and install it on to your PC
if you downloaded an OS that isn't from YOUR carrier, you will need to delete the vendor.xml file (located in the program files)
plug bb into usb
open desktop manager - let it initialize, will say connected when ready
double click application loader
should be prompted to upgrade the core applications
click thru the wizard and begin the installation process
i would backup the device first before starting this process, using Desktop Manager.
i did open the desktop manager and it says connected and i clicked app loader and it didnt download anything on to it
on DM, go to help then about blackberry desktop manager then choose the third tab called device software
what is listed?
i dont have device software its just desktop help contents and about desktop manager
ok, go back to where you saved the OS and double click the file to execute/install it on your PC. at the end it will ask you to open DM, if you downloaded an OS that isn't from your same carrier, you MUST delete the vendor.xml file. if not, proceed to opening DM. again, go to help/DM and see if the tab is there now.
