Re: The Original: Video encoding for the 8100

follow the instructions to download. i know the given link can be cluttered and confusing, but if you read EXACTLY what he writes, its quite simple.

On another note, I converted my first .avi file and I love it! I just ordered my 2GB miniSD card. I have a 64mb in there right now to test the video. Video and Sound works PERFECT for the file. Just use the Output Settings he listed. Now, on my lunch at work, I watch episodes of my favorite tv show (FULL EPISODES). Big ups to the thread maker. Thanks!!

That was a great post about drag &b drop video on the 8100 BUT does anyone know how to do it on the Mac? Yes, I saw the thread on using OS Ex 0.01 and it worked well for me. The next step was to convert the audio file using another converter - which was old and did not work. Does anyone have the same good writeup for the MAC?

After 4hrs of tinkering, I finally got it to work. Only proves good things come to those who wait. Used Clone DVD mobile to rip the DVD, then Super for .AVI conversion. The video quality is very good for the size. No pauses nor clicks. I use the headset to remedy the low volume. Dunno if it works with a bluetooth headset though..can't find my bluetooth headset charger..argh!! This thing works sooo great I'm now ripping my second DVD. Thanks & kudos for the great research! Now my bb 8100 can do it all . SUPERRR!!!

    hello...
This is my first time on pinstack and cn see that you guys have gotten a lot done on your blackberries.

i need some help with my video file on my memory card. Do the blackberry pearl only play one type of video file?

Has anyone tried putting a 2gb mem card in the pearl as yet or is there a limitation?

I'm running into an interesting problem ripping DVDs to the Pearl. Files under 30 minutes / 50mb or so work great. Anything over that size generates "an error has occurred attempting to play media" on load. If I shorten the file it works fine. I have a 1Gb SD. I can play the same large file on the PC so there doesn't seem to be an error in the file itself.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the stacks

Please read my post on the first page of this thread, and read through the entire thread this will answer your questions.

The type of files the pearl plays can also be found under the help icon on your BB.
