Any idea why the original post is edited out? Every post on search brings up a reply to come here...but there's nothing here. Got a new pearl today and i'm trying to find 'bb video' it looks like. Any help?

Edit: So i found someone with it...but i can't pm yet. Bummer :-( I plan on posting more, just got my bb today though.

The OP had a difference of opinion with the Stacks, so he took his information elsewhere. A couple of the more knowledgeable regulars around here should be along shortly to fill in the blanks.

Re: The Original: Video encoding for the 8100

Just to summarize for new readers, and/or folks confused by the OP taking down the links.

There are a few ways to encode for your Pearl.

The first method to try is the Roxio Media Manager included with Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2. It will automatically encode video to the format your Pearl needs. You will not be able to convert an encrypted DVD file, however.

If you need to convert DVD files or other formats that the Roxio doesn't support, the Seabyrd Technologies BB Video Encoder can also work.

Hope that helps for now until this thread gets cleaned up/reorganized.

Sorry but recording on the Pearl is impossible. That's right.. No video recording. None. Whatsoever.

Re: The Original: Video encoding for the 8100

I did everything that the first post said, and it works. But, I have 2 questions now:

    1. I know that the video controls wont go away so that the video will play on the entire screen...but for some reason it is playing even smaller than that...? there is empty black on the top sides and between the video and controls... how do i make the video bigger to take up all the available screen? aspect ratio?

    2. Some movies are not loud enough, how do I make it louder? (yes i have the vol turned up on the phone)

    thanks
