Thumbs up Re: The Original: Video encoding for the 8100

I agree the eRight Software is brilliant and it gets file size down to a minimum. Eg 1Gb VOB file down to 53Mb. This is on the minmial settings and having gone through numerous procedures such as breaking and ripping, converting then using media manager to push this to my Pearl.

Take a look at this seabyrdtech.com/bbvideo.One piece of neat software all through ONE GUI and you really don't need to know about ripping, wrappers or anything as teachnoweenie as with SUPER.

Please note I have still got SUPER and all the other bits you need to break down a DVD and pop it onto the Pearl as it will do lots of other stuff for other platforms like You Tube iPod etc.

    Hope this helps.

PS It's free so give the author some dollars if you like it!

I just wanted to say thanks for the tip! I tried those same exact settings and they definately worked for me!!! :-D I would recommend these settings for anyone who downloaded to the 4.2.1 firmware!!

OK, for those of you who are having trouble finding how to download Super C from the website, here are the directions:
    1. go to the website that was given on the first page.
    2. on the top of the screen click 'Freeware' > 'Super C'
    3. scroll down and click the blue link 'Start Downloading SuperC'
    4. click on the blue link 'Download and Use'
    5. scroll all the way down and click the light blue link 'SuperC setup file'.
    6. Run and follow installation steps

Good luck you guys! and if anyone figures out how to play a movie file on their BB Pearl get back to me. I know how to play videos but not movies. When trying to play movies on my pearl I get an error message in red saying, "Error Playing".

for those who have problems with converting their videos, try to use this program http://www.seabyrdtech.com/bbvideo, it's simple and does everything automatically.

Hey! when I drop the file in to be encoded, I don't see a 'encode' button to click and start the process. Where is the button or how do it begin encoding. I tried right clicking but still on choice to begin encoding. HELP!!!

Re: The Original: Video encoding for the 8100

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~can movies recorded on tivo be encoded and played on the 8100 Pearl? I tried encoding one and although it said it was encoded it wouldn't work. I've never tried any other movie so didn't knoww if it was just tivo or something I'm doing wrong altogether.
