The protocal specified is not supported by the handheld. Please try a different URL.

What the crap? If it's not supported then why would their site say that it is! I tried to contact their support team via the email they have listed here but the email was returned to me. Apparently their address is not working.

I really hope someone can figure this out. I was born and raised in NY but I had to move to Texas a few months ago for my residency. I really miss seeing the news from home and I don't have time to watch the news via my PC. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
The BB Pearl does not actually stream video, it downloads then plays. There is no program that allows streaming video, the only thing you can do is download a video and encode it with one of the many ways in this thread.

For some websites that work with the BB pearl browser try this thread:

Re: The Original: Video encoding for the 8100

So basically I'd have to do this on my PC (download and encode) and then transfer it to my Pearl?

Correct, unless you visit one of the Websites listed in the thread I posted above "Pearl Video Websites" but they arent the highest quality.

thanks, looks like it works great. if anyone knows of a way to get rid of the video size limit, please tell me, that would be great. i have a 1gb micro sd but it only lets me put videos on that are smaller than 25mb

Unfortunately you can't make the player disappear for a complete "full screen" view. yeah I know that sucks. hope BB will fix this soon.

Hit the Encode (Active Job-List Files) button at the bottom.

    trouble w/ videos

    two questions:

    1. how are you all watching these movies on your 8100s w/ the 25mb file size limit? is it that im using the wrong program to add the files?

    2. is there any way to stop my pearl from running slower while videos are playing? all of the functions take a few seconds to respond. how can i fix that?
