No. GSM is voice only, no data.

Re: Tethered Modem on GSM Network?

thanks alot folks.. i got it working in the end, and felt like a dumbass shortly afterwards.

what happened was i originally got it working and started browsing and downloading a couple of decent sized files (30 meg +-); anyone dealing with dial-up connection speeds of 26.4 kbps knows that this was a huge jump (115 kbps +-) on the EDGE network. then i realized the data plan through my carrier was gonna bill the living crap outta me so i changed it by phone. suddenly nothing worked anymore and all i got for reception was GSM. anyways, 2 days of messing around later, i reset the unit (by turning it off) and lo and behold - it's picking up EDGE signals again. i'm not sure why it dissappeared in the 1st place, but it must have had something to do with the the changes on my wireless carrier; the timing is too coincidental to be anything else. any thoughts?

Could it be that that you overloaded your phone carrier. I don't know
