    Tether pearl to PSP?

Ok, I'm new and I have joined pinstack about a month ago. I've been reading a lot of these forums and come to find out I have learned more here than ITT technical institute! lol. I've bee tethering my pearl to my desktop without the 74.99 tether plan for about a month and havent been charged for it. It could be because I do have the unlimited internet on my phone and they can't tell if im surfing on my phone or the PC. I dont know. But Ive been going tether crazy, trying to figure out how to tether the pearl to handhelds, ipaqs, bla bla bla. But, I would like to know if their is a way to tether the pearl to a PSP? May be a dumb question but I just cant leave things alone and Im sure lots of you cant either. This would be great because I live where we dont have Comcast, Clear wire or anything 21st century. We only have dial up. I know on PC you have to have the blackberry OS running in the background to tether, do I need the OS on the PSP? Well, anyways, if anybody has tried this or know how to do this, write me! thanx.

    very interesting concept.
You may want to look around for getting a pearl to tether with linux...that may give you some tips, I'm not sure. I know you can homebrew apps for the PSP i believe. Maybe its possible to shoe-horn the desktop manager on to the PSP. Good luck

How would you connect to the pearl from your PSP? The PSP doesn't have bluetooth and I think I'm missing how this would happen.

I would rather use my pearl to surf the net anyways...the PSP browser is pretty bad.

I heard you could physically connect the 2 using a mini usb hub, or bluetooth. My carrier is cingular and its steep for the tether plan. The browser is pretty difficult to get use too on PSP but they have a new browser , I forgot what it was called.

wow that's crazy. my carrier allows tethering with the blackberry data plan ($19.99). i wonder why so much discrepancy between carriers...

as for your question... i'm not sure if the devices will be able to recognize each other via bluetooth to be used in this fashion..

you don't need a "tehter plan" to use the pearl as a modem.
I don't care who you're carrier is. As long as you have a data plan, thats all you need.
I mean you get speeds around old school dial-up but its great if you're in a jam.

Don't tell cingular you want to tether, just do it.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~yeah that's basically what I did. Instead of paying a ridiculous amount for the tether plan I just configured the connection on pc.I have no idea why Cingular charges so much. Maybe just to use their software to connect I don't know but its pricy. I have 3 copies of their softwar and don't even use it lol.does anybody know where I could get blue tooth for the psp?

I didn't know cingular had that or that they charged that much, I'm glad I'm with Tmo.

But hooking up a BB to PSP kinda kewl, and most likely it wouldn't be for the browser on the psp but more for the online gaming, right?
