Take the 8100 for a test! 8100 FULL Device Simulator released.

Use the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 device simulator to demonstrate and test the BlackBerry device OS, screen, keyboard etc. This simulator will also simulate behavior in various wireless network conditions. In general Device simulators are great tools for testing apps, training and for use in presentations.

I'll post some screen shots in a few...

Download BlackBerry Pearl 8100 Handheld simulator
Note: Choose BlackBerry Handheld Simulators v4.2.

With the MANY tiny and some big improvements I've noticed in OS 4.2 I can only hope a more stable OS comes soon. It's GREAT! The Default theme... ok. The Today theme Very good. When you click "Applications" it opens with the icons laid out in the format that we've come to know BlackBerry for... BUT you can move up down left and right and not just scroll. Pics attached. If you are thinking about buying this device I'd say the simulator will give you a great perspective!

Hint: Click your mouse scroll wheel (button 3) and your cursor will disappear. All movements of the mouse will be in the simulator, ie. moving the mouse up/down/left/right will mimic the tracball movements in the simulator. Click scroll wheel again to regain normal mouse movements on your PC.

I downloaded the simulator. Kinda cool to play around with it a little before I get the actual phone tomorrow. Thanks for posting this.

I stopped by a Tmobile Store yesterday and played around with 8100. It is small, light and sleek. You would never think it was a blackberry. Picture quality is better than I anticipated. Zooming in and out via trackwheel is really nice.

Suretype isn't that bad, but not as easy as qwerty.

I upgraded from candy bar style phone to 8700g. Had Pearl been out before, I would have strongly considered it. But I have gotten accustomed to qwerty key board.

    Just my 2 cents

This is a really good way for someone to be able to test it out and see if it is something that may fit their needs. This is a great way to play around with the gadget before you buy it.

You have to download and install the Sun JDK 5.0 plus the BlackBerry Email and MDS simulator (from same place you got the device simulator). Without those items installed you can not access the web from the simulator.
