    Synching ACT! 9.0 Calendar - problems

    Hi,
    I'm helping a friend out with her new Blackberry Pearl (from ATT - had RED and was exchanged for Black). She uses some CRM software from Sage Software called ACT!. She is running version 9.0. At the ATT store, she could access online Help and could select a picture and see it in a larger size than a thumbnail. The main reason she wanted the Pearl was to synch her Calendar (ACT! 9.0) and the Blackberry (using the accompanying Blackberry Desktop Software) -- it stated it supports ACT!. First issue was that it would look for a database file with the extension .dbf. This is the older version -- 9.0 uses .adf. We tried it anyway using the older version of the db - and it kinda synched her calendar. It wouldn't select a user (the user appeared to only authenticate access to the db) and gave her all 4 users calendars -- and only partial calendars -- it didn't have all the appts for each day. Then, we see that the Help function on the Pearl has now gone away -- gives an error which I don't have currently. And as well -- she can see her pictures as thumbnails but not as anything larger. So, it appears that the synch overwrote something. So -- does the Pearl and Blackberry Desktop SW support synching to ACT! 9.0 calendars? Is there anyway to recover what appears to be overwritten (without going back to ATT store)?

    Greg,

    No an act user but will try to help. Did you download the most up to date DM (4.2.2 sp2)? I have heard bad things about the software included with the red pearls...

    Not yet. The ATT store tech guy basically said the same thing, so they exchanged the Red for the Black. Same issues -- I'm guessing that the SW really doesn't synch with ACT! very well. It would be nice to get an official stance on that -- looks like Companionlink may be a good way to go (but is yet another $100)...

    Before you abandon all hope download the new desktop manager and install it. Delete the old verion first just to be safe.

    You may also have to reinstall the handheld Software.

    AT&T downloads.

    Also ACT! 9.0 is not in the supported software for DM 4.2 SP2. Only 4.0.2, 5.0 & 6.0. Sorry
