"switch device wizard" question
i'm switching over to a 8130 from an 8100 and wanted to know how good that option to switch device is.
from what i know, some of the 3rd party apps i have won't work on the 8130, but i rather just delete them as i see them not working.
my main concern is my address book. i've read some ways of doing it but wanted to know the easiest and less-likely-to-lose-info way.
and regarding my PIN. if i were to wipe my 8100 and sell it, would the person that buys it have my PIN?
The Switch Device Wizard restores your address book to the new BB. Just click Restore when you are ready to load your stuff to the new BB.
Each BB has their own unique PIN. The new buyer will not know the PIN of the new BB.

I don't recommend using the switch device wizard.
Just go to Backup/Restore.
Then go to advanced.
Then pull everything over from the right to the left except for service books and call logs.
Then save that.
Then plug in your new BB and restore that file.

I'm with nate. Do a selective restore.
Switch device wizard will transfer your 3rd party apps though, so if you don't have a back-up or OTA addresses for them, Switch Device is the way to go.
thanks for the help!
if each BB has its own PIN, wouldn't my old BB keep its PIN and when i sell my old BB, wouldn't my contacts contact the old PIN until i update them with the new PIN?

Where do we save everything to?
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?
