    Suppress the ever-present envelope!

I have read all the techniques for altering email notication. One thing I can't find is this: With all data and email services on, but counter off, HOW DO I TO STOP ENVELOPE from appearing on home screen. I'm trying to reduce my stress level on vacation-if I see the darn envelope I will look! If I don't see the envelope I will know there are probably messages but I won't look. THnaks!

As far as I know there is no way to completely hide the icon, possibly a custom theme? I don't know about the theme idea as I don't design them but it may be a possibility.

Only custom theme, AFAIK, with removed notification area for icons. But that will remove missed calls, SMS/MMS and BB messenger icons too.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
You can turn off data. That way you can use all the features of your blackberry except email/Internet. SMS/texts/phone will still work.

    From Home screen
    1) Manage Connections
    2) Mobile Network Options
    3) Data Services (Turn it Off)

Rudegar, you deserve your time off. Turn the BB off completely, and adopt the motto I use for vactions, "If you want to find me, burn down the East coast and sift through the ashes".

To turn off the new message indicator go to:

    Messages>Options>General>

    Display Message Count = None
Display New Message Indicator = None
