    did you spill some thing on it? or drop it in a cup of coffee? those keys are a sub assembly that can easily be replaced if so . that's the only time i have seen that happen. look here for the part its not much money and you can send them the phone if your afraid to fix it your self

    I for one would like to know whether cleaning is easy though... as I do have a couple of keys that stick occasionally.

    I had the same problem with the 8100, but that's the thing, the keys sometimes stick. I researched this and found that i wasn't uncommon for the keys to stick every once in a while, and I doubt that there is a way to clean the keys without disassembling it...

    You can take it apart, and clean the keypad, or you may be able to get it fixed/replaced if it's under warranty.

    Check on youtube. Just do a search for blackberry pearl and there are several videos on how to do this. It is actually quite simple and not at all technical.
