    Starting with BB Pearl Black

    Hi friends,

This is my first post since I just got my first BB.

I have a loooot of questoins but I will try to post the most important and use the "search" to find those that could be already answered.

My new BB is ATT and I use to have a regular data plan for my old RAZR. Now, for some reason I can not find the Browser in my BB. I did a search and installedthe latest version for the software from the ATT site....no result.
I sent a request for the Host Routing Table....and nothing has come.

Finally I found the Brouser icon when I press "Menu/Switch Application"....but:

    - How can I have that icon in my Main Screen?
    - When I click it Ikeep getting an error screen that says that my Browser does not has any Browser Configuration Service Book Entry....what is this?...Can I use my BB with my regular data plan?

    Thanks a lot

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~as far as I can tell, the only way to get the browser is to have a blackberry data plan. The data plan from the razr is more for media net and as far as I can tell does not work for the blackberry. Once you have the data plan for the blackberry, the browser icon should show up along with the media net browser, if not the service books will have to be sent from AT&T customer care or through the BIS web site.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~mdspriggs is right the plan for your razr is not compatible with your BB.I mentioned that your BB must be used or the ATT rep would have set you up on a BB data plan.I think that you will really enjoy your BB when you find out all the things it can do! Let us know if you need any further help.

    Thanks a lot!!!!!
I will need to purchase the Data Plan then.

    The other question...

What is the Wireless icon for? It just let me turn the wireless on/off. If its off I dont get any call at all....
Is it like enabling/disabling the service?...or has something to do with wireless networks?

    thanks

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I think the wireless switch works kindof like the airplane setting that some phones have. You can turn the service off but still have all the other functions available. You could still access your calender or appointments and not have the phone active on the network.I'm pretty sure that's the main function.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~the curve throu tmo is the only phone that can use a WiFi router its called UMA. Unfortunatly the pearl currently doesn't have that feature.

Sounds like your questions have all been answered. Just to confirm (as a fellow ATT customer), the pearl needs a data plan for the browser to show up. Once you get this, resending the service books will put the icon on your main list.

    Enjoy the pearl!
