    Standby mode actually works

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but I did the T-mobile update yesterday. Yes auto-dim cannot be turned off. Which I can't stand. The good thing about the update is that standby mode actually works now. When I put my pearl in standby mode it stays in standby mode rather than going to keypad lock after a few minutes.

I agree with you on both issues.

my pearl got out of standby in my pocket - push/hold the red pwr button and you will notice this. There is NO real keypad lock on the pearl - this sucks.

I'm on .67 also the dim function is still not there. But I have found the wonders of the stand-by mode. I've gone a few days without recharging so far by using it with quite a bit of talk time and surfing. It rules!!

Does holding down the * key on the home screen not work for you?

What he means is that the Blackberry Pearl does not have a mode where the keyboard is totally locked. Most all non-flip cell phones have this feature - except Blackberries. Blackberry in it's infinite wisdom allows the Power key to still work in Keylock and Standby mode. Very bad idea !!

In addition, the Keylock mode is also affected by the pressing of the '#' key (changes from silent to normal mode/or Vice versa).

If you post in a correct thread, you might get a better response.

    Re: Standby mode actually works

As mentioned in this thread, they have not fixed this issue with Pearls on Rogers. The Pearl will drop out of Standby mode and into keylock mode after a few minutes. I called Rogers tech support and they said it's a feature / they've never heard of it before. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I really don't want to make a pocket 911 call!
