Sprint Picture Mail on the 8130

Has anyone had any experience with the 8130 and Sprint Picture Mail service? I just signed up for Picture Mail in an attempt to find a work around for the 8130's lack of an MMS option. So far I'm going on about 2 hours worth of testing, and no progress. I've even tried sending myself emails to my personal picture mail email address from my blackberry, and they still haven't shown up on the picture mail website. Did I just waste $5 testing this stupid thing?

    is this using MMS messages?

Check that you have the following:
    Options -> MMS

Options -> advanced -> service book

If you dont have them, especially the service book entry for MMS, your carrier needs to resend your servicebooks, this is done at your carrier.blackberry.com page.
Where you alter your email settings for your BB

Yeah, but the 8130 on Sprint has disabled the MMS option...so even with re-sending the service books, you won't get an MMS option.

so sprint offers a picture to web service that utilizes MMS messages, however they've disabled the possibility to send MMS messages on their phones..

Sprint techs gotta be rocket scientists..

I'm so pissed. I have been to lazy to try to figure out why I can't send picture mail to my buddies except for through email or facebook. Sprint, **** you, I'm pissed. I'm very pleased with my 8130, however.

Sprint has MMS on most of their phones but the only PDAs that have it are the Palm OS. None of the Windows Mobile devices or Blackberries have MMS/Picture Mail. It's baffling.

Okay hope I make sense...newbie here! I have a nextel phone and am able to send pictures sending my 10 digit phone number to my BB 8130. It recieves them as a link and can only be only opened using picture mail. Now to go the other way (back to nextel) i have to use the the ten digit number with this at the end of it. 5551234567@messaging.nextel.com. I dont know what other carriers use for messaging services but you could find out by sending an email from your phone and it should display the tag address used to identify the phone. Hope this helps.

That is the best source so far. Others have posted ways to email pics but the addresses didn't work thanks!

    Workarounds

i have been using the email it to yourself then forwarding method through sprint's picturemail...

    Basically,

setup a contact like "sprint picturemail" and use the email address:

    "yourmobilenumber"@pm.sprint.com

this will basically let you email a picturemail to yourself as your phone can receive picturemail.

once you get the picturemail link, go to it then use the choice to forward it to whomever you want....

It is a little time consuming but at least you don't have to know all your friends cell phone providers.

This sometimes works and sometimes don't but its the only thing I know until someone can utilize a 3rd parties software.
