    Re: Sprint Pearl 8130

so i called sprint to cancel my bb plan because the thing stopped working, device error 348, (followed all the posts and help given and no result) i tried the insurance protection and they told me no, supposedly because i added the insurance a couple of days after activating the device. Well they had someone call me, from sprint to go through with the cancellation and he got me to stay. He is going to call me on the 23rd to exchange my broken 8703e for the new pearl. i also got a credit for the non usage of the blackberry from the 17th of october to the 23rd of nov. so the wait is on, I should get the BB pearl after black friday.

I think the pricing is going to be the same as verizon. It is 299.99 without a contract. I am hoping that's the case. I don't think sprint would raise the price by an extra 200.00 and make it 499.99

Sorry bro, but Verizon drops it for 299.99 WITH a contract. Its $499.99 without on Verizon, and It will be for Sprint as well.

Are you sure about the $299? That is the 2-year price and you get $100 off online. I was told the retail price was $369 (and even that is hard to believe since they sell the 7130e at $419.99, the 8703e at $469.99 and the 8830 for $519.99) but you know those CSR's are often confused. One today told me the 8130 on Vzw wasn't available until the 1st (today is the 5th) for business customers (which is what my account is), saying I would have to wait until the 8th. He kept going back and forth. That clown was so confused, so I wouldn't be surprised in pricing confusion.

A verizon rep told me that the unactivated price was 315 with tax. Weird...

The Sprint 8130 is rumored at $350 with a 2 year contract and a $100 mail in rebate ending with a final price of $250.

$499.99 is what was shown a few weeks ago in my system, the phone has now been removed for some reason, maybe the price is dropping.

Well Verizon was 319 but it was a mistake in the computer or something so they bumped it up to 419.99. That is the full price. I wonder if sprint will be the same.

Wow if the full price turns out to be 419, I will be a happy camper. And I dont think Sprint would go much above verizon's full price, because then where is the fun in competition. Phone carriers don't usually vary much in full price on the same phones do they?

If Sprint sells the 8130 for $250 after all the rebates compared to Verizon currently offering it for $200 with instant rebates and then an additional $50 mail in rebate to bring it to $150 then Sprint will lose me as a customer after 10 yrs WAY quick. Their customer service is beyond terrible these days. I'm tired of talking to someone in India or Pakistan when I call about billing or questions about a phone and them being totally clueless about what I'm talking about. Everytime I get a new phone from them they completely screw up my account and pricing, end up over charging me, then I have to call back and talk to a retention specialist in the US to fix the account. I've kept my current phone for over 3 yrs because they have had a complete crap selection of phones. I didn't upgrade a yr ago cause I didn't want to end up with a phone I did not want and lose my "upgrade discount" even though my phone is falling apart. Now Verizon has the 8130 weeks before Sprint will release it it seems. Sprint needs to get their act together yesterday...
