Once you downloaded the new Device Operating System to your desktop did you also install it on the desktop? Take a look in your Desktop Control Panel under add/remove programs and see if it shows up on your installed program list.
Is .137 a Sprint Operating system? If not you need to delete the vendor.alx file in order to install it on your device.

Don't forget to uninstall the old OS from the PC first. It will default to that and not the new one if you don't uninstall the old OS from the PC.

*and I am running .97 from VZW, need to go find this one..

I looked into the OS versions a little more, package .137 is .71 so there is no change. However, US Cellular has the same version as Verizons (package .170 OS .97) and fixes a volume issue and better mulimedia per VZW. You can download it here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...B58CE00D1194C9

Just remember to uninstall the old OS from the PC and delete vendor.xml file located in: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
