    So...Where is Opera?

I'm pretty new to the BlackBerry. I've been using my 8100 for about 2 months and have been happy with it. Now I'm ready to start adding applications and customizing it. I used Desktop manager to update to the .107 software last night with no problem (except it lost all my personal ringtone settings, no big deal).

Now I'm trying to install Opera 4 Beta. I downloaded it to my desktop, used App Loader in DM to install it, and it's listed as an Application under Options > Advanced in my phone. But I don't see an icon to launch it ANYWHERE in my menu, and it's not hidden either.

So how do I use the damn thing?

Also, does anyone have experience with the BBSmart HTML email app? Looks like it drastically improves the look of emails! Just wondering before I buy it.

    Thanks.

    Hi Sketch and welcome aboard!

Hope the battery pull helps - you should get an "O" icon on your desktop.
Also please remember that you will need to adjust your APN settings according to your carrier in order for Opera to work. If 4 Beta continues to give you trouble you may want to consider trying OM 3.

APN settings are right, I've tried hard and soft reboots, and a battery pull.

No O icon, but it is listed in my applications list.

I'd love to be able to get into it so I can see if it's giving me problems, but I can't even find it to launch it!

You used DM to install, correct? Launch again, remove the application and re-load....see if that helps...or you can try the OTA install...

Tried and retried installation through the DM - same results. OTA installation seems to have worked, although it didn't identify my phone, but I selected the high memory version and it seems to be working.

What a step up from the bbBrowser.

    Thanks for your help.

Any opinions on the html email app?

I agree give empower a look. I know they offer a free trial period so you can see what you think.
