If you're not on UMA then you wouldn't be making a WiFi call.

So basically yes, it would subtract from your minutes.

This is what I have been lead to believe.

Does it say UMA in the upper righthand corner? If it does you are making a wifi call. If you don't then you are making a network call. If you do not subscribe to talk forever @ home service then you can still use that feature but it will use plan minutes. What network are you using? Only tmobile uses uma calling.

Hi Break, OK so we are clear, you do not HAVE to subscibe to use the service, but to have UNLIMITED calling you have to Pay 9.99, SO some people use it for lack of Signal in their house, and need it to have access to the Minutes they pay for, so they are not paying the 9.99, some people want the unlimited calling over WIFI, so yes you have to sign up for the 9.99 for that. THis lets you use any WIFI you can sigh into. This can be limited by the WIFI Admin. Not TMO

    Really?

    No UMA calling on AT&T?

They offer the 8120 but online only.

In the store they only carry the 8110s.

yeah to get unlimited calling from home or any other location that offers wifi then you would have to add the @home calling 9.99$
if you are making calls over wifi without the @home service then its just being used to improve reception if you live in an area of poor reception

yeah you aren't using wifi for calls unless you have signed up for it. but it does enhance the web browsing (UMA). I guess that you can test if you are using UMA by turning off your mobile network and see if your calls still go through.

Let me clarify you can still connect to wifi to make your calls over.

If you want unlimited calling its 10$ monthly from home~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
