    sms/email question

Every time I receive an email if goes to my email box and my sms box is there any way just to make it go to the email location instead of going to both. Does that count as a sms text for my plan every time my email is sent to my sms box. Thanks in advance. Hope that’s not to confusing.

You can try this...go to messages and hit menu-general options. at the bottom of the screen you should see SMS And Email inboxes. Change to Seperate and then save.

Go to your inbox. Hit the menu button and go to options, general options, scroll all the way down to "SMS and Email Inboxes".

Theme controlled - Means what it says
Combined - Makes both email and SMS arrive in the same inbox
    Seperate - Seperates them.

I have Tmo and their plans eat up Emails as texts. I don't know about the other providers though.

Hit the menu button and go to options, general options, scroll all the way down to "SMS and Email Inboxes". when i scoll of the way down the last thing i see is "keep messages" option i dont see sms and email inboxes. It looks like he is running 4.1 but he posted under the Pearl forum which would be 4.2 so good question...

Some older Pearl OS's did not include this option. I dont off hand recall when it was added. Crumbs for the sake of simplicity also post your carrier info please....

    Re: sms/email question

No .73 is pretty old. The separate SMS from Inbox option came along for AT&T (and everyone else) sometime around .89 or .94

crumbs, go to the AT&T Blackberry software downloads site, if you want to have this option, and download the most recent Pearl OS. It is .97, IIRC.

Install this to your PC and phone, and you'll have this option.

In the meantime, you are not getting charged for SMS each time you receive an email. Its coming in as data, not SMS. Blackberry has a consolidated Message Inbox for all messages. Email, SMS, MMS, and BBM come into this folder by default. You can change these options if you prefer with the newer OS applications.

If you need a walkthrough for upgrading your OS, try this thread.
