Personally, I would stick with the Pearl and collect the $250. Windows Mobile is notoriously buggy.

Ew, it's ugly, but not so bad.
However, I'd stick with Pearl... and collect 250$

That is the same as comparing Apples to Steak. Two totally different phones, environments, OS, everything. The issue is Blackberry vs. non-Blackberry. That is your only decision.

Take the phone and sell it for $100 more since it appears to be worth twice what he owes you .. then you can buy a Blackberry Curve. ;D

Re: Should i ditch the blackberry pearl for this phone....

The big problem isnt MS OS or blackberry, its the way pocket pc phones are implemented. Pocket PC's by themselves are excellent and more stable and versatile than anything else in its class. They are more capable than just a PIM and are a decent option for mobile computing.

The PPC phone is what was good about a PPC, and then watered down 70% to include an always on radio with the battery life of an average phone. The most dramatic gimp the PPC phone suffers is the CPU, usually being reduced at least 50% compared to it's non cellular relatives. they actually gimp the entire reason you would want a PPC and a phone together, a cellular radio with solid mobile computing.

This is the reason I still carry both my HP4155 and my Pearl. They are both very good at what they are, but if put in one device, I would just be let down.

I actually have one, and it is a pretty good device, but the battery life on it is horrible, but 250 for all that is a good deal. I pefer my pearl to any other device. I test devices for Cingular(At@T now) and I have the 8525, Blackjack, and Treo 750 and I love the pearl. I hope to get a iPhone here in the next couple of weeks

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~sell the phone on craigslist to avoid the eBay fees. Enjoy the pearl because windows mobile is real buggie. Had one hated it and got the pearl. No regrets

Re: Should i ditch the blackberry pearl for this phone....

I'm still a WM fan even though I'm now also using the Pearl. Yes take it! The TyTN rules!! 3G, wifi, built-in Office programs, ability to add powerful apps, etc.

If you can use the functions and love the power, WM still rules over any other OS! If you don't add a lot of unstable programs, there will be none of the bugginess talked about here. One thing you might want to do though is install a new launcher and an app that truly closes opened apps. And soft reset the phone(or get a program to do it) every so often, because WM is like regular Windows, memory leaks. Coming from a BB, WM may seem more difficult to use, but there are forums just like this one dedicated to Windows phones and they can help.

I just came off WM(but will be getting an 8525 myself soon) and I will say the BB OS is simpler if you just want a smartphone, but aren't a power user.
Phone junkie! I've tried all types EXCEPT Blackberry! So I'm a BB Noob, please go easy on me, LOL!! I now have 3 Pearls, I guess that means I'm officially an addict?
