    Nice find by the way

I would assume it would reply to the screen name.

You're right, it shows your aim screen name.

Re: send free sms messages using JiveTalk or Ramble

Technically if you had aim and you add someones cellphone number to your buddylist (usually from a desktop) and then you can Im that persons cell phone. My mom use to do it to me when I was 16 if I was out with some friends. It still counted as a text message for the person who received it unless you had a messaging bundle but I do believe that still works. I don't know if you can do it from your device. So try setting it up on the desktop first. Then see what happens. Hope that helps~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

The receiver still gets charge a sms text message , yea, unless they have unlimited sms messages or what not. I don't have sms text messaging on my T-mobile account so that's how I know it doesn't charge when you're doing it this way. It works on my device for the past 2 months ever since I started to use jivetalk.

Just want to share it with those who do a lot of sms text messaging.
+1 cos its the US ISD code? or is it the same for any country?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i believe it only works for here in the states. I could be wrong since I haven't tried it with an international number. I just know the format is +1 followed by ten digit phone number.

Re: send free sms messages using JiveTalk or Ramble

It works for AIM (US)only. It does not charge you a SMS charge. The user will be able to reply to your screen name only and not your phone.

    Format: +14125555321 = +1areacode(3 digits)number(7 digits)

Just enter the mobile phone number of choice on the AIM buddy list as if you were adding a new friend and technically you have free texting to other users phone via the AIM service.

I use it all the time. If you guys keep having problems let me know and I'll try to help ya.

That looks international... as said before it goes through AIM/AOL and apparently only works for the US (not even sure if it works for Canada)

Hey Reddog, just added your pin to my contact...What application you using? Are you using the aim client to send it? You can always try it on your home pc using aim first to see if it works. Just always remember to add +, 1 before the (area code) and then 7 digit number and you have to an AIM screen name obviously.

Re: send free sms messages using JiveTalk or Ramble

I've done this successfully on JiveTalk. From the menu, 'New IM' - then for the user name I'm inputing +1(areacode, number - no spaces)
