Is there a program out there that will let you control what is saved where on the card, directly from the BB, not on a desktop?

Well in your media manager you can see it all. If you're talkin about a better control of the files and where to save em, don't know of any.

You need a program that actually reads those files.

You give the answer to your question, "media" as videos, pictures, ringtones and music... that is the purpose of this media manager.
