    screen brightness is randomly dim

I just got my 8100 Tuesday. Every day at some spoint, it seems that the screen brightness level is randomly lower. this happens with a full battery. I have the backlight settings and screen brightness settings the same as the day I got the phone.
Maybe it's the AUTOMATIC BACKLIGHT setting?
    Is it light sensitive?

    Thanks,

    Joe

Yes there is a light sensor. It dims and brightens automatically depending on the lighting it is exposed to. It saves battery power.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

thats annoying as all get out. I keep my auto backlight feature off all the time, so it doesnt dim and get bright, dim and get bright, dim and...........that gives me a headache.

the sensor is placed on the LED on top right

the screen gets brighter in a bright place
and it gets dimmer when in dark

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~this is actually a very nice feature once you get used to it...sometimes when I'm outside I do find that it will dim because the lights not hitting it right...but all you have to do is turn your phone toward the light source and it will brighten up again...but when your in a dark room for example...this prevents your phone from blinding you...just give it a week or two and you'll get used to it (if you really don't like it you can disable it by going to options > screen/keyboard > automatically dim backlighting off/on)

But something IS wrong... I've noticed it too. The changes are not consistent with the stated purpose; I've seen them happen without corresponding light-sensing by the BB.

Thanks. Seems like a nice feature.
I'll try to get used to it.
