    Screen Brightness

I bought a case for my BB which has the swivel belt clip and an open front with a plastic cover over the screen. Out of the cover the screen is very bright but when it's in the cover it goes dull and, sometimes, in strong sunlight it can be very difficult to see. Is there any way to turn up the brightness ?

Options > Screen/Keyboard > Backlight Brightness ... that should do the trick.

Tried that........ it's set to 100. Guess I'll need to just live with this.

You could turn off the 'Automatic Blacklight'... This'll stop the Pearl display from diming down and stay at 100.

Do you know what OS version you are running? The Rogers 4.2.1.94 version allows you to have more control over the blacklight by giving you the option of turning auto blacklight off. You should consider upgrading.

Search this forum for the discussion on how to upgrade your OS. It gives detailed instructions on how to do it.

I'm on Vodafone, UK. I'll search the forum as you suggest and take it from there. Thanks for your help.

I just found out the new firmware supports turning off the auto-dimming. WOW what an improvement.

Nope that application keeps your back light on for Navigation Applications or whenever you need to keep the back light on constantly

thanks for the info on turning off backlighting -- it sometimes drives me crazy when the screen lighting adjusts as I move around.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Really? I really like it when I don't have my case on...its nice when its dark because it doesn't blind you and when its bright its hard to see unless it brightens up to reduce the glare...I guess I'm just used to it!
