    Scratch or screen problem?

I recently noticed a rainbow colored line on my screen. I was hoping someone could tell me if it is a scratch or pixel problem. When the screen is white (like in memo) it is really obvious. The line is 1/16 of an inch long. (yes it is long enough to bother me). I thought it was a scratch so I tried car wax and plastix. Neither one worked. Since I already tried one abrasive that didn't work, I am reluctant to try another. I also reset the phone (took out the battery) to see if that would help and it didn't. I haven't used a screen protector, but I went out and bought one today (writeright). With the screen protector on I no longer see the mark. When the phone is off (black screen) and I hold the phone up to the light I can see the line on the screen. Does this mean it is a scratch? I am also unhappy with the screen protector, it seems to have a rainbowish sheen to it. Can someone recommend another brand?

    Re: Scratch or screen problem?

Hey auggiegirl try these, everyone loves them and they're cheap. I would grab a couple, I did just in case. Full body ones. It covers front, back, top, bottom just not the sides.

Not sure if your screen is scratched or not. Can you get us a pic? If it's a pixel problem you could get a replacement.

    Good luck

EDIT: Just be sure if you get them, follow the directions i think there's also a couple of threads about them too.

I had the same problem with the pearl and it was a small scratch down the front of the screen. thankfully my trackball stopped working and I had to RMA the Pearl and now I dont have the problem. I would recommend some case for it or the one that reddog mentioned.

It's impossible to take a picture of it. I tried with 2 different cameras...no luck. I hate to think I am stuck with an ugly scratch down my screen. There is a piece of lint behind the screen (i think), but nothing I can complain about. Thanks for your recommendations.

Personally, I find the best screen portector is called Invisible Shield. I use it on my ipod and put one on my pearl recently. www.shieldzone.com

hope that helps you, I think there are videos on that product on there also.

The "dog" is right - you cant beat BSE! Folks are leary 'cause the price is so cheap ($7) but I would never go out without mine!
