    Ridiculously fast battery drain?

Hello all, yesterday I got my brand new 8120. It is replacing my Pearl 8100. My 8100 would come off the charger around 8am, and be off until 10-11pm with a low battery but not dead. The 8120 came off at 7am, but it now at 15% at noon. All applications are the same on the 8120 (JiveTalk, BB Alerts, bluetooth connection to car). Nothing else is different except maybe the Wifi...any ideas? 5 hours of battery life is not going to do it...

Actually most of those tips I already employ. There are no settings on this BB different from my 8100. And yet it is now about dead. Could the WiFi settings impact the life? For instance, I am in a place since about 8am that does not have Wifi. Since I had Wifi Preferred, was that draining the battery looking for Wifi service?

Should be an antenna-like icon on your main menu...if it's not shown, when on main screen click menu button>show all. This should show all hidden icons/apps.

Hah! I am sorry, on my 8100 that icon was only to turn wireless on and off. I see now it is so much more on the 8120. Well, I have had it plugged in to a charger for an hour and it is only up 5% so it may be a bad battery. Survey...for those of you travelling around a lot, is your wifi on, and if so, how long does your battery last?

I have the wifi on all the time, and don't notice any difference from my 8100 charging patterns. I tend to keep chargers in my car, office, and home, and don't drain it too much more than once a week or so. Talking to a couple of EEs, they didn't think the wifi would be much of a drain, compared to, say, leaving BT on all the time. Bill
