    Removing PTT

I have been trying all night to get rid of this PTT feature b/c I have the little blue icon on my screen that won't go away. I can't find the Ptt .cod in my Program Files anywhere. I've read all the posts on here and I can't figure out a way to delete it.
I'm also having trouble backing up my Profiles, and I have tried everything to re-configure them back to default and still not luck. I'm offically frustrated with my phone right now.

there is one thread...also if you look at the top of this page there should be similar threads right above you post...those may help also.

Hope that helps, if not post again.

    Here's another method too:

    Re: Removing PTT

My Research in Motion folder doesn't have any .cod files. I have looked in all the folders in Research in Motion. I've looked over and over and I can't find them anywhere. I've already looked at both those threads and those steps aren't helping me. I don't know if they got saved to another folder but I have been searching all the folder in my computer and I can't find them.

I don't really understand what you mean? I already have an upgraded OS and the newest DM running on my computer.

    Re: Removing PTT

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8310-v4.2.2.181_P2.5.0.35

That should be the path to find your
platform.alx file. That last part should be different for you, which ever OS you're running right now.

Open that file up and find the .cod file and follow the directions in the other thread.

and delete the ONE ptt cod file?

    then run application loader again?

    always works for me
or you can do it cherri's way.

    Re: Removing PTT

When I go into my Research in Motion file there is no "Shared" file or anything like that. When I get off work I will look on my computer again. Maybe I just missed something because if these steps work for everyone else, they must work for me. Thank you guys for all your help. I appreciate it.

    Re: Removing PTT

ok there is 2 different RIM folders...the one you want is the one in COMMON FILES

so if there is no Research in Motion folder in the Common Files folder you need to install the handheld OS on your PC before we proceed. But you said you already have so it should be in

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8310-v4.2.2.181_P2.5.0.35\Java (your OS version numbers might be different...depending on what OS you are loading)

    NOT

    C:\Program Files\Research In Motion

    Re: Removing PTT

So what OS are your currently running on your Pearl?

EDIT: Nevermind I see your running 1.96 as your profile says...is that correct?

Are you positive you installed the Handheld OS on your PC?

Yes that's correct. What do you mean Handheld OS? My OS came with my phone, how do I install in on my PC?

    ok go here...https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4
and download that file...then run it on your PC. It should install your Handheld Software(OS) to your PC.

    The Blackberry Pearl 8100c one.
